We watched the inauguration live at work today and I can say that I was surprised theat Cheney didn’t fly his wheelchair over the audience with a freeze ray or something.

In a recent blog post on the McCain website, Obama supporters are referred to as the “Dungeons and Dragons Crowd”, and it is implied that they are not mighty enough to fight for their country, and that they live in their mom’s basements.
While I suspect he is referring to Redditors, (myself included), I think that statement is misguided. Dungeons and Dragons folk are crafty, many of us are also really nerdy martial artists (I practice Kendo and Kenjitsu), and I don’t live in my mother’s basement. I surpasses the average Dungeons and Dragons player in nerdinedss, as my friends and I were dissatisfied with the DND combat and magic system, we switched to a more loose system (GURPS, by Steve Jackson Games), and created our own combat and magic system.
The guy that spearheaded that very very nerdy movement, my friend Stuart, is now a staff sergeant in the US Army, Served in Iraq and other secret locations, and has a security clearance higher than the President. So, in a word, suck it, McCain. Suck it dry. (That’s several words, I am aware. You suck it too.)
I attack the DARKNESS!
I can not wait for the next iPhone software update. 2.0 has some revolutionary features, and actually makes my telephone seem like a space phone from the future, but there are some really horrible downsides.
The worst one by far is the 1 hour + backup every time I sync the phone! Incrimental, anyone? Give me a break.
Opening an application sometimes crashes the app, and other times restarts my phone. This is a real pain in the ass as well.
In fairness, I love the app store, and screen capture is pretty schweet. There are little hidden things like holding down the period(.) on pages that have the @ symbol to get .com .org .net, whatever, and the faaaaaancy calculator. It is a shame that those two problems had to be such doozys.
I do hear that 2.1 may have copy/paste though. Not sure how long we have to wait for video recording and MMS though, 2 features that my Grandma’s phone has but the iPhone doesn’t…
But, in true internet fashion, I am still saying something.
